The Hindu Women’s Network seeks to inspire every woman to strengthen her own family and society to achieve harmony through emotional, spiritual and financial well-being.
To form a dynamic and vibrant national network of Hindu women living in America, to foster communication and collaboration locally and nationally in the service of the society, by sharing their skills, talents and age-old wisdom
OUR MISSION
To cultivate Hindu women’s three great abilities - “Shakti, Seva and Sadhana” for empowering self and others, social contribution and spiritual enlightenment.
OUR GOALS
- Invoke “मातृ शक्ति (Matru-Shakti) for instilling self-esteem and self-respect
- Create Seva Bhavna and offer support to women and family in need
- Cultivate Hindu values and wisdom in daily living
- Empower each other with positive purpose by sharing knowledge and expertise
HOW DO WE ACHIEVE OUR GOALS
- Highlight the role of women as the torch bearers of Hindu Samskaras
- Empower women to help others by creating opportunities to network
- Provide a platform to bring to light social, cultural and health related issues faced by women in particular and families in general
- Envision, develop and execute programs for physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of women
WHATE HAVE WE LEARNT
- The positive feedback from the participants after the events and Seva motivates the HWN volunteers
- HWN team to put their efforts to incorporate suggestions from the participants for the future events
- These events certainly provide an excellent platform to start a healthy conversation and an opportunity to celebrate sisterhood together

WHAT IMPACT DID IT HAVE?

HWN has done the difficult task of bringing many “Wonderful” women together and given them a platform to learn about various topics. Many Questions, may that be legal or dining table arrangement, Hindu Women Network had sessions teaching such diverse yet interesting subjects in a fun setting. This has helped many women in assimilating them in American way of life while retaining their special identity.

I’ve been going to the Hindu Women Network meetings for past 2-3 years. It has been good to meet other women in the community. My husband passed away 5 years ago and this community has been very supportive. The topics have been very important, with great speakers. Some of the topics I appreciated included the one about meditation and learning about resources for victims of domestic abuse. Also, I am particularly interested in fashion, and I enjoyed the sessions on how to tie a scarf and how to wrap a sari in different ways and how to accessorize. I look forward to these meetings to see my old friends and to make new ones.

HWN is a place I can say keeps me connected to my roots. It lets me give back something to my country through the events/causes that they support. It’s a support group to us women of Indian origin, a place I learn new arts/crafts & where I meet women of my birth country who are extremely talented, educated, & multifaceted. Can’t say enough about this wonderful group!
